Old Mission Santa Ines, Solvang, CA

The Capuchins came to Mission Santa Inés in 1924, following in the footsteps of Blessed Junípero Serra. They minister to a diverse community in the Santa Ynez Valley, including members of the Chumash people, the original inhabitants of the area.

PAROCHIAL
St. Francis told us to love and serve the church. One of the ways the friars do this is to serve the people of God as priests and brothers working in parishes. There are presently three parishes staffed by the Capuchin Franciscans in Western America: Our Lady of Angels Parish in Burlingame, California; Mission Santa Inés in Solvang, California, and St. Lawrence Parish in Watts (Los Angeles), California, and a friar serves as pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Byzantine Catholic Church in San Francisco. Other friars also assist local parishes by celebrating masses and other sacraments.
